On March 29th 2019 the UK begins the “transition” process of leaving the European Union. The lack of clarity regarding Brexit has created a very uncertain trading environment.
The Bank of England and the Government have warned both consumers and businesses that the UK economy may take a downturn, but it is fair to say no one really knows the likely impacts the commercial world will face post-Brexit. We would like to tell you how HTC Health is gearing up to deal with the inevitable changes and also to offer guidance on how our customers can prepare now for the significant challenges that may lie ahead.
We have discussed the potential implications of a ‘no deal’ Brexit scenario with our supply chain partners and we are confident our ability to source, supply and market our products will be unaffected and to our current knowledge, we are positive the fundamental parts of our business will continue to operate efficiently.
We are anticipating possible delays of up to 2 weeks in regard to product clearance if there are any new regulations that need to be implemented by Customs or Port Health. UK sea freight and road transport network are currently under a lot of strain and we were advised to expect the supply chain to lengthen over the next few months. We will promptly communicate any updates to estimated delivery times to all our customers at the earliest opportunity.
For any large or bespoke orders required by the end of May, we will need to receive Purchase Orders by Friday 15th February to be able to meet the demand. We strongly advise all our customers to give us as much notice as possible to avoid any disappointment.
Due to the uncertainty of Brexit, there may be a financial impact from potential fluctuations in the Exchange Rate and the expected volatility of the Pound. We always strive to offer our customers the best value for money and even during these uncertain times, we hope to remain competitive and supply you with premium quality goods at very attractive prices.
Currently, with many of our customers working on their contingency plans, we are experiencing an increased number of orders for many of our best-selling lines. We have made every effort to ensure we are adequately stocked and appropriately prepared for any eventuality we could possibly expect.
If you have any questions regarding your pending orders or would like to discuss any potential implications in more detail, please get in touch with your Account Manager.
