As you are aware, the United Kingdom left the European Union on the 31st of January 2020. This will mark the start of a transitional period which will last until the end of this calendar year. During this time, the relationship between the UK and EU will be negotiated. As there has been some uncertainty surrounding Brexit in recent months, we understand some customers may have questions about how this may affect our business together.
During the transition period, UK businesses can trade with the EU on the same terms as before, so in short, nothing will change for now. We may not know what the outcome will be in 2021, however we will of course do our best to minimise any disruption and will develop contingency plans to ensure that we can meet our customers’ needs.
We are currently waiting to see the outcome of trade talks between the UK and EU. We will be following these very carefully and will be sure to update you as soon as we have any news. In the meantime, we will continue to engage with the UK and European regulators and industry representatives, including the HFMA.
