Sport Relief is when the British public comes together to get active, raise money and change lives. This year, the event got bigger than ever with a whole week of epic activity lined up from 17th to 23rd March 2018. It is a biennial charity event from Comic Relief, in association with BBC Sport, which brings together the worlds of sport and entertainment to raise money to help vulnerable people in both the UK and the world’s poorest countries. With so many people participating in this amazing initiative, we had to get involved too!
This year we combined few different ideas to make the most of our Sports Relief fundraising. In addition to an amazing bake, sale organized as usual by our Star Baker Clare, we had a sporting contest, with few different challenges set out. Marketing department turned out to be quite capable at rope skipping, logistics did wonders with the hula hoop and Sales completely smashed the bike riding challenge! However, summarising the results of the whole day, it was the Accounts department that came on top and took the winners title!
We had an amazing time competing and watching our colleagues’ attempts at tackling those challenges. As a company that likes to get involved in all the worthy causes, we’re always eager to have a bit of fun, especially if we can combine it with fundraising that can positively change people’s lives.
Comic Relief, the charity behind the Sport Relief initiative, uses all the raised funds to support over 2,000 projects on the ground, here in the UK and across the world. To find out more about their amazing work visit comicrelief.com
